Twitter grows engineering base; IPO in offing?
Twitter appears to be leaking cash

Social network Twitter is on the hunt for almost 90 engineers and while many of the positions are focused on traditional remits like Android, Linux, and Cloud, several other roles up for grabs seem to indicate that the company is preparing for an IPO.

The media had got hold of one job description for a financial reporting manager, which made reference to “preparation of monthly reporting materials, quarterly/annual financial statements and Form S-1 when we are ready to go public,” but that description has since disappeared.

The company is however also looking for someone to handle stock administration, with “experience in global equity compensation. Direct experience with stock, finance or accounting,” which also suggests the company is going public. There’s also several roles available focusing on financial analysis and revenue and sales growth, which would tie in with an IPO.

In related news there are also a good number of engineering jobs for Vine on offer, suggesting the company is throwing some support behind the micro video service which now competes with Facebook’s Instagram and Yahoo’s Qwiki.
