WiMAX chipset vendor Beceem Communications has unveiled a number of uplink performance improvements to its portfolio of 4G chips.
The 4G Turbo improvements may appear in any WiMAX network as they work with every Wave 2-compliant WiMAX base station, the company said, enhancing network coverage and user experience, especially at the cell edge and in areas of low signal strength.
The improvements provide Dual Antenna Transmit diversity for maximum uplink performance under all signal conditions and deliver a gain of approximately 2dB compared to other WiMAX products, Beceem claims.
