Yogesh Malik has resigned as Uninor CEO

The CEO at Indian operator Uninor Yogesh Malik has resigned from his position citing personal reasons. Sigve Brekke, currently head of majority owner Telenor Group’s Asia operations, will also act interim CEO while the firm seeks Malik’s successor.

“Yogesh has made important contributions towards the development of Uninor for the last three years. I thank Yogesh for his contribution to the company and wish him the best in his future endeavours,” said Brekke.

Last month, Uninor declared its financial results for the quarter which showed a 23 per cent year on year improvement in revenue growth in the six circles it operates in. It broke even during the quarter in fove of those six circles. ARPU stood at Rs.100 while churn was five per cent.

“Uninor continues to perform well and we are close to reaching the break-even target,” added Brekke.
