A Danish court has ordered the Swedish telecom operator Tele2 AG to prevent its subscribers from visiting a Russian web site of selling music illegally.

The site, AllofMP3 is owned by Moscow-based Mediaservices and is accused by the Danish arm of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), of disseminating music illegally. The ruling earlier this week, follows a lawsuit filed by the IFPI in July

The group’s chairman and CEO, John Kennedy, said in a statement: “This judgment is one more step along the road to getting this rogue site closed down… Allofmp3.com illegally offers for sale copies of music that it has no right to reproduce or distribute.”

Mediaservices expressed disappointment at the ruling sand insisted it has not broken any laws. Its AllofMP3 site lets users buy an entire album for around $1 and other tracks for a few cents compared to other sites, such as Apple’s iTunes which charges around $10 for an album and 99 cents for a single.
