TSIC launches managed Diameter signalling offer

roamingThe carrier services arm of Nordic operator TeliaSonera has launched what it claims is the first managed Diameter signalling service, enabling other mobile operators to offer LTE roaming services to their customers. The Diameter Roaming Exchange (DRX) offering from TeliaSonera International Carrier has already been deployed by the operator’s subsidiaries in Sweden, Norway, Spain, Finland and Denmark and will be rolled out to its Eurasian properties in the near future, the firm said.

It added that the DRX, which depends on the firm’s own global IPX network for international connectivity, carried “multiple gigabytes” of data for Swedish and Norwegian attendees at this year’s Mobile World Congress.

Simon Dodsworth, vice president and head of voice and mobile for TeliaSonera International Carrier, said: “This is what we mean by ‘anywhereization': our customers need to cater to the increasing end-user demand for instant access to everything, anywhere. It is the ideal time to be launching our DRX service to mobile operators worldwide.”

The 3rd annual Signaling Focus Day is taking place on the 23rdh June 2014, at the Amsterdam RAI, Netherlands.
