All the winners at the 2014 Telecoms.com Awards

The 2014 Telecoms.com Awards were hosted in a highly entertaining event last night, gathering together 170 industry figures from across the telecoms world. The Awards, which took place in London’s Barbican, recognised innovations from 16 categories that covered the most topical areas of the industry.

The second Telecoms.com Awards reinforced their status as a key event in the industry calendar, with entries coming in from all parts of thesector, including operators, vendors and service providers across the world.

The winners were chosen by a panel of eight independent judges from a diverse range of backgrounds and with a collective wealth of experience within the telecoms industry. In some of the categories the competition was so close between two different entries that the judges decided to mention the close second second-placed entry. The award categories and winners are listed below.

  • Ancillary Services to Telecoms – Joint winners: Accenture for its Intelligent Migration Solution and Vodafone Roaming Services with the VRS Managed Wholesale Roaming Service
  • Best Cloud Innovation – Synchronoss Technologies for its Synchronoss Personal Cloud
  • Best Mobile Payment Solution – Mahindra Comviva for its Mobiquity mConnect; Ooredoo was highly commended for its Mobile Money Service
  • Best use of wifi – Joint winners: Aptilo Networks for its Stadium wifi, and BT Research and Innovation for its wifi Roam
  • CEM – SpatialBuzz and Telefonica Germany for the Live Check Programme
  • Connecting the Unconnected – Vodacom Congo for its Rural Coverage System
  • Fixed Network Innovation – NEC and Telefonica for the Virtual Residential Customer Premises Equipment
  • Green Technology – Smart Communications for its Green Merchandising Programme; Solarway was highly commended for its mobile charging kiosk
  • Handset Innovation – Qualcomm for its Snapdragon 810 processor
  • Mobile Pricing Innovation – Opera Software for its Web Pass
  • Most Innovative MVNO – Mobile by Sainsbury’s for its Nectar Integration
  • Network Management Excellence – Adaptive Mobile for its Mobile Network Security; Amdocs was highly commended for its Self-Optimising Networks
  • OTT Service Launch – AsiaInfo for its Veris Open Operational Platform (O2P)
  • Progress in M2M/IoT – Jasper for its IoT Vision
  • Urban Improvements – Ericsson and XL Axiata for the ‘road to improved customer satisfaction’
  • Pushing the Mobile Limits – SpiderCloud Wireless and Intel for the Edge Cloud NFV Applications; plus AT&T highly commended for its Network on Demand
