Tiscali boosted by UK ADSL growth

Italian internet service provider Tiscali Monday reported that revenues for the first half of 2006 increased 17 per cent year on year to Eur412.9m (£282m), driven by strong growth in the UK ADSL space.

Approximately 360,000 users registered to Tiscali’s ADSL services in the first six months of 2006, bringing the company’s total broadband customer base to 2.07 million with more than a quarter of users receiving unbundled services.

Overall ADSL revenues leapt 44 per cent versus the first half of 2005 as 265,000 new users joined the ISP in the UK, bringing Tiscali’s UK total to 1.2 million subscribers. Around 81,000 new users registered in Italy, to bring the country’s total to 384,000 subscribers and 26,000 registered in the Netherlands, bringing the total to approximately 276,000.
