LTE Awards 2015 winners announced, Huawei wins twice

Last night saw Amsterdam’s De Duif play host to the LTE industry’s annual awards bash and gala dinner, with Huawei proving to be the big winner on the night picking up two awards. The LTE Awards 2015 saw more than 50 finalists represented at the annual celebration last night, with the panel of judges whittling down the shortlist from more than 150 initial nominations.

Speaking ahead of the ceremony, head of research for the LTE World Series, Alejandro Pinero, discussed this year’s awards ceremony and the quality of entrants.

“We have been overwhelmed by the industry’s response to the awards this year,” he said. “We received nominations from over 150 different companies, from the industry’s largest, to new start-ups in all continents. I know that the judges have had an extremely difficult time choosing tonight’s winners and shortlisted companies due to the extremely high calibre of the nominations.”

“All of this year’s categories were extremely competitive, reflecting the exciting R&D taking place across the industry. We’ve seen up and coming trends, entirely new products and concepts and a true reflection of the efforts companies are putting in to be in the forefront of tomorrow’s network deployments. The winners are truly a reflection of excellence in today’s LTE ecosystem.”

150 people attended the black-tie dinner, hosted by technology journalist and TV presenter Kate Russell, and the lucky winners were announced.

Congratulations to all the winners and everyone involved. The night’s big winners were:
