#Winner – a wrap up from last night's Global Telecoms Awards

The wine flowed, the laughter boomed and Tim Skinner’s velvety red jacket almost inspired a communist revolution. All in all, the Global Telecoms Awards was a roaring success.

Last night we celebrated the successes of the telecommunications industry with more than 200 guests from around the world, and the brilliantly offensive comedy stylings of Canada’s Katherine Ryan. From 5G through to cloud and IoT, the awards demonstrated one thing clearly and loudly; don’t write off the telco industry just yet, there’s plenty of innovation and enthusiasm to carry through to the digital era.

Congratulations to all the winners (scroll down for a full list of the winners and a few pics of the night, including a self-indulgent one of your correspondent), and if you have any stories from the evening, feel free to drop us through an email; we do love gossip.

Keep an eye out next week for the highlights reel and a new edition of a Week in Wireless recorded on stage (with drinks in hand, the occasional slurred word and more than occasional bleeped obscenity).
