The GSMA hopes to boost the M2M market

German operator group Deutsche Telekom has partnered with US SIM card solution provider Digi, which specialises in supplying industrial-grade M2M solutions.

The M2M SIM cards that the operator uses are soldered into place; the durability of its solutions is an area of focus for it in its offering.

It has therefore now announced a collaboration with Digi which specialises in supplying applications that connect and monitor remote assets such as storage tanks, vehicle fleets and solar power arrays.

The solutions will be used in places where rough weather, movement, vibrations and extreme temperatures can interfere with the functionality of integrated SIM cards.

Digi is also integrating its cloud SIM management solutions into Deutsche Telekom’s M2M Service Portal, allowing the operator’s customers to manage their devices and SIM cards remotely.

Both firms will also offer the services of their solution architects to help customers design industrial grade end-to-end M2M solutions using their platforms.
