Voda to bundle Dell notebook

UK-based mobile operator Vodafone said Thursday it will be bundling Dell’s ultra mobile device with a mobile broadband subscription from mid-October.

Big Red will be the first carrier to get it mitts on the Inspiron Mini 9 unit, which will be bundled in for ‘nothing’ with a 24 month contract at £25 per month.

But the deal only includes 1GB of data per month, which looks a bit poor compared to rival offerings from the likes of Orange, which is offering 3GB under a similar deal.

Weighing in at 1.035kg, the Inspiron includes a built in webcam, Bluetooth, sealed keyboard, solid state disc (SSD) drive, and an 8.9-inch glossy LED display (1024×600). It is built on Intel’s UMPC Atom platform, which also received a boosts this week when mobile gaming outfit Gameloft announced support for the technology.
