Nokia ups its game in service management space

Monster kit vendor Nokia Siemens Networks said Monday it plans to expand its customer base in the service management space through a range of new channel partners.

The initiative will see NSN target the service management software business by collaborating with KlugCom, P3 Solutions, Subex and Theta Networks. NSN said these channel partners would give the vendor access to new markets and technology, helping to expand its customer base in Operations Support Systems (OSS) and service management software.

β€œIn the complex software market, collaborating with other software specialists helps us to address service providers regardless of their network vendor or technology,” said Juhani Hintikka, head of operations and business software at NSN.

Under the deal, KlugCom will provide OSS capability in Latin America; P3 Solutions will help develop software to enhance customer quality of experience; Subex will contribute to service management platforms including inventory management, service assurance and service fulfilment software; and Theta Networks will provide network optimisation.

NSN said it has more than 600 network management customers and more than 360 service management installations.
