Ericsson signs GSM extension in India

Swedish equipment manufacturer Ericsson, said Tuesday that it had signed a three year GSM etension contract with IDEA Cellular of India.

In a statement, Ericsson said it will provide microwave transmission and softswitch technology. No financial details of the deal were revealed.

In the statement, Ericsson said the network would be built in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh.
