Telenor acquires Talkmore

Acquisitive Nordic telco giant Telenor has purchased Norwegian mobile network operator Talkmore for NOK135m (Euro17.5m). Talkmore’s revenues in 2006 were NOK178m.

Talkmore will remain a separate brand and the company will continue as an operational entity with the same market focus. All employees will receive offers of continued employment in the company.

“Talkmore operates within the low-price segment of the Norwegian mobile market. We are pleased that we have managed to secure a substantial customer base and key experience through this acquisition. Telenor shall be a leading player within this segment,” said Morten Karlsen, Executive Vice President and Head of Telenor Nordic.

The parties have entered into to this purchase agreement pending the approval from the Norwegian Competition Authority.
