new hiX 56xx family clippedThe need for bandwidth is insatiable.  As a result, the network is undergoing drastic change to adapt to the demand for high-speed bandwidth services.  To meet this challenge, ADTRAN is reinventing the network with a portfolio of innovative solutions that enable service providers of all types and sizes to evolve, change and grow.

The recent ADTRAN announcement of the Total Access 5004 addresses the need for flexibility, scalability and reliability within the network. This new compact platform is a unique, small form factor Fiber-to-the-Anywhere (FTTx) solution designed specifically for accelerating the delivery of premium services. It uniquely offers service providers unprecedented architectural scalability with true carrier-class availability and performance at every scale point, from dozens to thousands of subscribers. The Total Access 5004 delivers the performance, scalability, flexibility, redundancy and serviceability typical of large, central-office platforms but in a compact 2RU form factor that is ideal for space-constrained cabinet retrofits and small remote terminals, which is exactly where deep fiber infrastructure is being targeted. This solution supports a full MSAN breadth of services including Fiber-to-the-Premises (FTTP), Fiber-to-the-Node (FTTN) (overlay and combo), Carrier Ethernet, Optical Networking Edge (ONE), and TDM via Total Access 5000 modules.

ADTRAN is proud to boast the industry’s most comprehensive and flexible FTTx solution suite.  This portfolio of solutions supports 1 to 384 port vectoring in any deployment locale. It also includes one to 16 port multi-tenant Fiber–to-the-Distribution Point ONUs using GPON-fed, VDSL2 and reverse powering technologies. The latest addition to the portfolio is the Total Access 1148V SLV and is a hallmark in innovation. Building off ADTRAN’s leadership in sealed OSP DSLAMs, this solution is the first in the industry to deliver cross system-level vectoring using a sealed DSLAM. With the solution, service providers will be able to increase the rollout of vectoring by extending it across multiple systems.

ADTRAN is also reinventing the network for Gigabit services delivery with the introduction of the 48x1GE module for the hiX5600. This module brings high-density FTTH to the hiX platform, enabling support for the rising demand for Gigabit services.

The need for bandwidth is here to stay. One thing is for certain, the only constant is change. ADTRAN is committed to providing solutions that are flexible, scalable and provide the economics to enable success as service providers roll-out or extend new high-bandwidth services. These solutions enable carriers to evolve to meet the needs of their customers, change to meet the technology demands and grow their business.
