Enter 5G – the NanoCore

NFV is being widely tested

A research paper published by Imthiyaz Ali, a senior software engineer at Wipro Technologies, claims to be the first such paper to take at look at the 5G network, which he refers to as “the NanoCore”. The nanocore is based upon the convergence of four main existing technologies: nanotechnology; cloud computing; all IP network; and flat IP architecture.

According to Ali, the paper is intended as an introduction to the concept of 5G – the NanoCore, for telecommunication operators, service providers, vendors, researchers and students. His key findings look at predictions for a 5G architecture, including how pioneering concepts like Morphe, Graphene, Nanosensor, Optoelectronics, Quantum Cryptography, Multicore technology, and NanoDots can be compounded, and how nanotechnology and cloud computing can work collectively to form a single entity.

Imthiyaz Ali is a senior software engineer at Wipro Technologies. His prior technical experience also includes Radio Network Optimization of Live network. He has authored papers on NanoRobot, Nanotechnology, and Wireless communications.

“The mobile phone has become more than a communications device in the modern world, it has turned into the identity of an individual. In 5G Nanocore these mobiles are referred as NanoEquipment as they are geared up with nanotechnology,” Ali said.

“One of the central visions of the wireless industry aims at ambient intelligence: computation and communication always available and ready to serve the user in an intelligent way. This requires that the devices are mobile. Mobile devices together with the intelligence that will be embedded in human environments – home, office, public places – will create a new platform that enables ubiquitous sensing, computing, and communication.”
