Swiss Post trials SMS stamps

The Swiss postal service Swiss Post has launched a trial that will allow consumers to pay to send letters using premium SMS. If a customer who wants to send a letter has no stamps they can text “STAMP” to a dedicated short number and receive a numerical code in return. If they write this code on the envelope where they would normally attach a stamp delivery will be authorised.

AQA launches commercial micro-blog

AQA 63336, the UK-based premium text trivia service, has launched a commercial blogging tool – AQA2U – that it believes will allow publishers of all types of content to generate revenues by sending SMS updates to an opt-in audience. By doing so, the firm aims to grow its own revenues without having to market to AQA2U text recipients.
