Vodafone Germany claims country’s first commercial VoLTE service

Coinciding with the international computer show CeBIT, Vodafone Germany has launched a voice-over-LTE (VoLTE) service in Germany. Claiming it is the first such service in the country the telco demonstrated the first live VoLTE call and said it is ready to be rolled-out across its 4G network.

Vodafone UK to launch wifi calling and VoLTE this summer

Vodafone UK has announced it is set to launch wifi calling and voice-over-LTE (VoLTE) this summer. According to the telco, wifi calling will be especially helpful for subscribers living in poor coverage areas or where getting an indoor signal is difficult.

DoCoMo to launch VoLTE in July

Japanese incumbent operator NTT DoCoMo has announced plans to launch Voice over LTE services following a planned software update scheduled for late June or early July. DoCoMo said that users will be able to access LTE data throughputs of 150Mbps during voice calls as well as the firm’s disaster information notifications.
