Next Evolution in Back-up Power

    How many flexi modules can be accomodated in the cabinet.

    The concern is the growth and future upgrades.

      The shown example has 3 Flexi Modlule integrated.

    I wouldn’t plan on removing batteries from our sites – would add hydrogen in lieu of generator – I don’t think that anyone would remove their DC batteries

      That’s why it’s evolutionary. The technology will change the way you think. But if you insist on keeping your batteries, hopefully you will realize that you need less and less of the batteries and associated maintenance costs every year.

        It’s worth noting that many service providers keep a small amount of DC batteries on their sites for small interuptions of the power grid, like a few minutes outages, etc. In this case the bridge batteries are used for these small outages and the fuel cell is only engaged when the outage is longer than a pre-set time. This is configurable with the fuel cell from Andrew.

    I have an application where I need primary power produced on site (i.e. off the grid). Is there any fuel cell technology that can run continuously? The load would fit within a 16KW solution.

      The solutioin that was shown in the webinar can be run continuously. the issue then becomes how effective is hydrogen delivey, especially for change out the cylinders. If it’s a 16 KW system , you need to change out th 8 rack of cylinders every four hours, If you rand the system down to almost emptying all 16 cyclinders, you’d need to change the cylinders every 8 hours. For contunous running you might consider a larger hydrogen storage system, like the tube trailer, or perhaps on-site hudrogen generation. But these systems tend to be very CAPEX intensive.

      This is not the most ideal application for fuel cell technology.

    How many Nokia flexi modules can be accomodated in the self contained cabinet.

    Concern is about the future growth of the cell site.

      In the cabinet shown with primary and backup power systems. Three (3) NSN Flexi modules will fit in the cabinet. If the primary powering is coming from a separate location (say a power cabinet or shelter, then another 1-2 flexi modules could be installed. If you need more flexi modules than that or would like room for more future expansion, we could consider a bigger cabinet.
