US carrier AT&T said Wednesday that it will be giving free wifi access to its 10 million or so broadband subscribers as well as adding a 10Mbps offering to its portfolio.

AT&T broadband users will get free unlimited access to the company’s nationwide wifi network, delivering an annual saving in the region of $60.

The offer is available to new and existing customers who subscribe to any of AT&T’s broadband services with downstream speeds of up to 1.5Mbps, 3Mbps, or 6Mbps.

AT&T wifi network extends to more than 10,000 US locations, including retail stores, restaurants and airports.

The company is also making a new tier of broadband available to AT&T U-verse customers, offering up to 10Mbps downstream and up to 1.5Mbps upstream.

AT&T Yahoo! High Speed Internet Max will be available for $55 a month when bundled with U-verse IPTV.
