LogicaCMG’s McKenna makes a move
IT services company LogicaCMG said Monday chief operating officer and executive director Jim McKenna has decided to leave the company during the second half of 2008 to pursue a “portfolio of interests”.
McKenna has performed a number of senior roles in his 14 year career at LogicaCMG and seen the group grow from 3,000 employees in 1993 to 39,000 people today.
The board of LogicaCMG has asked McKenna to remain with the company until the latter part of the year in order to lead the creation of a new global Outsourcing Services division. This division will work across LogicaCMG with the aim of rapidly expanding its outsourcing services business.
Andy Green, CEO, said: “I am delighted that Jim has agreed to stay on for an interim period to help me lay the foundations for the next stage of the group’s development. Jim has been instrumental in building the global delivery capability and his experience will be invaluable to me and the rest of the team as we establish the new Outsourcing Services division.”
On leaving LogicaCMG, McKenna intends to expand his existing portfolio of interests. He currently serves as chairman of the board of governors at the University of East London, chairman of the ADAB Trust and a member of the UK government’s Senior Salaries Review Board. He will become chairman at Azzurri Communications, the business voice and data communications company, and Chairman at Rainer, the national charity for under-supported young people.
