Inmarsat deploys CSG billing to manage wholesale

Mobile satellite communications services provider Inmarsat has deployed BSS firm CSG International’s billing and mediation tools to manage wholesale channel and reseller billing partners.

Inmarsat Global Xpress is a globally available broadband satellite network based on Ka-band frequencies of 26.5GHz to 40GHz. The firm said it is designed to enable seamless global coverage from a single operator and to support data speeds of up to 50Mbps.

The satellite services provider will use CSG Singleview; CSG International’s convergent billing platform, and CSG Intermediate; an offline and online network mediation platform.

According to the BSS provider, it will create sophisticated models to manage wholesale channel and reseller billing partners and will also deliver the solutions to meet the complex retail billing needs of direct subscribers. Pre-paid, post-paid, and hybrid billing will be supported across all Global Xpress applications and content services.

“Our holistic billing and mediation solution will allow Inmarsat Global Xpress to evolve, adapt, and adjust to changing market needs while staying far ahead of the competition,” said George Fraser, vice president of EMEA at CSG.

Leo Mondale, managing director for growth management and support at Inmarsat added: “Our commercial success requires robust revenue management and billing solutions that enable us to take the complexity out of global high-speed connectivity and allow us to support the growing needs of our partners and customers.”
