Andy Rubin, VP of engineering at Google, has posted a message on Twitter saying that Android activations are up to 300,000 each day, compared to 200,000 in August. Gartner estimated that shipments of Android units hit 20.5 million for the third quarter of this year. Traditionally mobile phone sales are strongest in the run up to Christmas.
