Zain Jordan has launched HSPA+ mobile broadband services, offering up to 21 Mbps to users across the country with the promise of 42 Mbps “in the near future.” The group has launched similar services in Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Sudan over recent times and Jordan CEO Abdul Malek Al Jaber described this latest venture is “a stepping stone towards consolidating Zain’s position as an integrated operator with the largest network in the Jordan telecommunications market.” The new service currently covers 97 per cent of the country – for the first time, all governorates will receive the service at the same time through 1000 base stations.
