France Telecom executive Olaf Swantee was on Monday announced as the incoming CEO of Orange and T-Mobile UK joint venture Everything Everywhere, effective September 1. Swantee will replace Tom Alexander, who has stepped down citing “personal reasons”.

Alexander has been in the role just over a year, formerly chief of Orange UK, then Everything Everywhere following the merger in July 2010. He will support Swantee until the end of the year.

Swantee is currently France Telecom’s executive VP of operations in Europe (except France) and Sourcing and since 2007, has successfully transformed Orange throughout Europe. He has been on the board of Everything Everywhere since its inception and will relocate to London with his family.
