Irish universities club together on telecoms research center

A national telecoms research organisation has been formed by eight universities in Ireland and won the support of the government there.

The Centre for Telecoms Value Chain Research (CTVR), has received investment from commercial partners that include Lucent’s Bell Labs and FPGA semiconductor firm Xilinx.

The Centre will be involved in a wide range of research but will have a strong commercial focus driven by industrial requirements
