Zhone racks up five GPON deployments in Argentina

US firm Zhone Technologies has received orders to supply GPON equipment for five separate fibre deployments in the Argentinian provinces of Buenos Aires, Córdoba and Neuquén.

Zhone was selected by Argentinian firm Communication Partner SRL to supply its MXK terabit access concentrator platform for the delivery of high-speed fibre access to subscribers of four different telephone cooperatives and one housing development.

The products selected are the MXK 819 and 319, 2424 and 2426 ONTs series, which will together can provide access to triple play and high-bandwidth business services over any FTTx architecture, and enable the mixing of xDSL technologies with GPON or Active Ethernet.
