Vonage still wooing customers

Despite being on the verge of bankruptcy and having the threat of disconnection hanging over it like the sword of Damocles, Vonage is valiantly trying to sign up more subscribers and fast.

A telecoms.com reader forwarded us an email advertisement on Wednesday, offering existing US subscribers the option to save an additional 20 per cent, or “over $59” on their annual phone bill.

For a one time fee of $239.99, subscribers can get unlimited local and long distance calling and access to premium features like SimulRings – ring up to six different numbers at the same time, voicemail plus, call waiting, Caller ID and call forwarding.

However, customers are required to make a one year commitment with no refund for early termination, never mind the fact that Vonage might not make it through next month if a court decides to disconnect the company’s service.
