T-Mobile halves roaming costs

T-Mobile will reduce its roaming charges for business travellers by more than half, the company announced this week. The cuts, however, apply only to data sent from countries already on the firm’s network in Europe and the US.

In a statement the company said its data roaming charges will be cut from £7.50/MB to £3/MB for business customers travelling in 10 countries. Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, the UK and the US are included.

T-Mobile said the cuts will begin 16 February and apply to both sending and receiving data. A consumer package is expected by the summer. The company added that “Officelink customers, customers using BlackBerry e-mail or Sidekick devices” would not be included in the cuts.
