Echo Translator, a UK-based firm that claims to have developed the world’s fastest real voice language translator and logical phrase builder for mobile phones, yesterday announced the availability of its service for Orange business customers.

The translation tool promises that a user can speak, learn and instantly interact with anyone of any culture without any prior knowledge of the foreign language, delivering instant native voice output from an on screen menu.

Gideon Clifton, CEO, Echo Translator spoke to the Show Daily before this year’s show. “We went to University College London’s linguistics department and learnt the cognitive demands of language. We break phrases down into subject, verb, object. You don’t learn phrases or words really, you learn in blocks. We call that Echo Phrase Logic. That’s our patented technology,” he said.

Users can download the Echo Translator from a range of 25 languages currently on offer.

Available for Windows Mobile or Java handsets, the Echo Translator is available to download free and try from www.echotranslator.com/downloads and for the duration of the 3GSM World Congress, the Spanish and Catalan 3GSM Echo Translator Edition will be available to download free.

Echo Travel Basics is free and Echo Travel Pro with more than 10,000 possible phrase combinations can be subscribed to weekly, monthly or purchased outright providing an on device alternative to phrase books and classical forms of language education.
