Athens, Greece – 17 September 2014 – Intracom Telecom, a global telecommunication systems and solutions vendor, today announced the launching of its unique Outdoor Software-Defined Radio (OSDR) offering reliable, scalable and cost-effective IP connectivity with the unmatched capability to operate in Point-to-Point (PtP) and Point-to-MultiPoint (PtMP) configurations. The company will be presenting its advanced solution at the Packet Microwave & Mobile Backhaul event on 22-24 September 2014 in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Operators can now take advantage of the unique features of the OSDR all outdoor radio equipment, designed to operate either as a high capacity packet PtP radio or a PtMP hub or a PtMP terminal, by simply activating the relevant mode using software keys. The OSDR platform offers top capacity, performance and ease of deployment in all modes of operation, thus enabling network operators to benefit from the OSDR agility in transforming and expanding their network.

The OSDR radios operate at frequencies from 6GHz to 42GHz and at modulations up to 4096-QAM, enabling Gigabit radio capacity over a single 56MHz channel. The OSDR radio technology provides hitless adaptive modulation, compression and range extension algorithm.

Mr. John Tenidis, Marketing Head for Intracom Telecom’s wireless solutions, said: We are proud to announce the OSDR, a fully programmable all-in-one Software-Defined Microwave platform responding to customer needs to deploy different network topologies to certain parts of their network. The OSDR, apart from a future-proof investment, testifies our commitment in developing cutting-edge solutions to address customers’ network transformation requirements on their way to revamp their 4G/5G networks accurately and cost effectively.”
