O-RAN Next-Generation Fronthaul Conformance Testing

telecoms radio towers

Mobile network operators (MNOs) are driving the adoption of an open radio access network (RAN). The O-RAN Alliance has defined a 5G RAN architecture that breaks down what was once a single-vendor, hardware-centric RAN into several sections with standardized interfaces between them.

With the introduction of an open and distributed RAN, it is now necessary to test each component in isolation for conformance to the standards, and in combination for interoperability.

Download this white paper to learn more about O-RAN fronthaul conformance testing requirements and methodologies for:

  • O-RAN distributed units (O-DU)
  • O-RAN radio units (O-RU)
  • Conducted and over-the-air setups
