In an open-letter to representatives of 170 governments ahead of the ITU’s World Radiocommunication Conference in November, the GSMA has pressed the case for 5G in the mmWave spectrum bands.
The World Radiocommunication Conference 2015 (WRC-15) in Geneva had a good outcome for the mobile industry, according to the GSMA, which welcomed the addition of new spectrum to mobile broadband.
Chilean operator Entel and infrastructure vendor Ericsson have completed what they said is the first Latin American live LTE network test over the APT700MHz spectrum. The trial involved the deployment of 10 test sites with equipment using the frequency band in Rancagua city in Chile.
