UK’s full fibre rollout ramps up

UK fibre infrastructure providers Openreach and Hyperoptic have announced an extension of their deployment plans to new locations.

UK wholesale fibre start up gets £50m injection

UK start up wholesale fibre provider Hyperoptic has received an equity investment of £50m from currency speculator billionaire George Soros. The firm said the funding will enable it to meet its plans to reach more than 500,000 UK homes with its 1Gbps fibre broadband within the next five years. The investment is led by Quantum Strategic Partners, Soros’ private investment vehicle.

UK 1Gbps fibre service set for September launch

Startup ISP Hyperoptic has announced that it will be launching a 1Gbps fibre optic service in the UK in September. The service is a full fibre-to-the-premises offering and will offer symmetrical 1Gbps speeds for download and upload.
