A pair of well-known Israeli telecoms executives have made a US$300 million bid for control of Partner Communications, a move that should facilitate CK Hutchison’s exit from the market.

Nokia fleshes out network deployment skills with second acquisition

In an acquisition double whammy that took place at the end of last week, Nokia Networks revealed that it picked up a second company, Israel-based Nice Systems, also for an undisclosed sum. The geolocation specialist will give Nokia enhancements in the planning and optimisation of mobile networks, the company said.

Israel prepares for MVNOs

Israel is preparing to welcome its first MVNOs after recently publishing regulations allowing local operators to host service providers. On Wednesday the Israel Post (the post office) said it has contracted Belgian MVNO enabler Effortel to project manage its launch.
