The European Commission has finally given the acquisition of Spanish fixed-line player Jazztel by French mobile operator Operator Orange the green light, subject to some concessions from Orange.
Orange has reported a year-on-year drop in its 3rd quarter revenues but claimed it achieved excellent commercial performance, particularly in France, and in stabilising its EBITDA margin. It also claimed it is on course to reach its 2014 objectives.
Operator group Orange said Tuesday it has made a cash offer for 100 per cent of Spanish carrier Jazztel, to the tune of €3.4bn.
Spanish triple play services provider Jazztel said Tuesday that its national high speed broadband fibre to the home (FTTH) network has begun commercial operation. The fixed-line voice, data and internet and mobile services provider teamed up with Chinese kit vendor ZTE to build the broadband network out within two years to cover three million home and corporate users in Spain.
