Lycamobile has announced the expansion of its existing partnership with Telefónica to launch 4G data services across its Spanish network.

Lycamobile, the international low-cost calling MVNO, said it will soon be releasing a communications app for its growing international customer base. Speaking to telecoms.com, CEO Chris Tooley hinted the app will be in the same vein as global OTT communications services like Whatsapp and Viber.

One third of Dutch mobile subs are MVNO customers

Almost one third of mobile subscribers in the Netherlands are customers of virtual operators, according to a report published this week by Dutch analyst house Telecom Paper. The total number of MVNO subs in the market has now hit 6.6 million, or 32.8 per cent of the total subscriber base, the analyst said.
