ZTE, China’s lesser known technology giant, has reported a surge in profits over the first six months of the year to CNY 2.29 billion (about $340 million), an increase of 29.8%.
Chinese networking vendor ZTE maintained its strong profit growth in 2015, but this time it was fuelled by a healthy jump in revenues as much as cutting overheads.
Italian operator Telecom Italia announced its numbers for the first half of 2015 and revealed it only just managed to stay in profit thanks to a €399 million provision against regulatory affairs.
AT&T has posted its 2014 full year results, showing financial strain as it made a loss of nearly $4 billion in the last quarter alone. However, the operator still managed to exceed analyst expectations, albeit narrowly as it earned 55 cents per share (excluding exceptional items), a penny more than expected.
Chinese telecom kit vendor ZTE has announced preliminary full-year financial results showing 94.2% increase in in net profits for 2014. However, the firm’s annual revenue is expected to grow at a more modest rate with an 8% increase compared to 2013.
RIM’s has seen its profits slide to less than half of what it generated in the previous quarter, and to little over 40 per cent of what it made in the same quarter last year. The company’s quarterly earnings for 2Q11 revealed that its net income for the quarter was $329 million. This marks a steep drop from the $695 million it recorded in 1Q11, an even steeper fall from the $797 million made in 2Q10.
