Smaller operators and new entrants to the market appear to be growing increasingly frustrated by the power wielded by the industry’s big players. This trend was evident this week, as three of Canada’s smaller operators announced their withdrawal from industry body the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association (CWTA).
Canadian carrier Rogers Wireless said Thursday that it has signed up M2M services provider Wyless to deliver a ‘one stop shop’ catering to various vertical markets.
The seven mobile operators across the world using the same M2M platform will automatically benefit from a degree of interoperability that makes it easier for enterprise customers to expand into new markets.

Canadian operator Rogers has flipped the switch on its LTE network, bringing the next generation mobile network to the capital Ottawa. The network will be extended to Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal by autumn, and it plans to increase the roll-out to an additional 21 markets during 2012.
