MTN Group, Western Union in mobile money transfer

South Africa’s pan-regional operator MTN Group has joined forces with Western Union over a cross-border mobile money transfer service that will be available in 21 countries. The service will allow MTN subscribers to send and receive Western Union Money Transfer transactions using their MTN MobileMoney accounts. The service will first be introduced in Uganda, where MTN’s MobileMoney service has over one million registered users.
