Thorsten Albers has been appointed CTIO at T-Hrvatski Telekom

Croatian operator T-Hrvatski Telekom, which is majority owned by Deutsche Telekom, has appointed Thorsten Albers as chief technical and information officer (CTIO). Albers has also been appointed as a Management Board Member at the operator.

He joins the operator leaving a joint role as CTO at Deutsche Telekom’s two subsidiaries in Macedonia, Makedonski Telekom, which the German operator group has a stake in through its share in majority owner Magyar Telekom, and T-Mobile Macedonia, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Makedonski Telekom.

Albers replaces former CTIO Bozidar Poldrugac, whose “mandate expired last month”, according to T-Hrvatski Telekom.

The operator said that its new CTIO has gained considerable international experience in executive positions in the technology sector. In his six years at Makedonski Telekom, he played a key role in the successful implementation of its IP migration project, the Croatian operator added.

The operator announced in February that its revenue for 2013 reached HRK7.04bn ($1.27bn), down 6.8 per cent on the previous year. Net income was also down 15 per cent year on year to reach HRK1.44bn.
