At MWC24, Huawei launched a 10G all-optical network solution, marking the commercialization of F5.5G. To assist small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in digital and intelligent transformation, Huawei showcases the third-generation FTTR-B solution featuring the OptiXstar B50 series products. The solution innovatively integrates the network, cloud, security, video, and computing, making breakthroughs in connection, experience, and services. Using this solution, operators can not only build networks, but also provide one-stop comprehensive services for SMEs. During the event, Huawei also displayed the FTTR for SME Construction Guide White Paper released by All-optical vertical industry workgroup to pool industry efforts and prompt FTTR-B innovation and development.

FTTR-B is the ideal solution for improving enterprise broadband experience. It is a dedicated enterprise networking solution oriented to operators, enabling operators to build differentiated Wi-Fi networks rather than simply selling fiber connections. Huawei FTTR-B OptiXstar B50 series, including Standard, Pro models, and Pro+ models, are applicable to scenarios such as street shops, business buildings, and SME campuses, helping operators to provide comprehensive network services with the following breakthroughs:

Breakthrough 1: all-optical ultra-fast smart connections. The intranet breaks the restrictions of the GPON physical layer. It is the first symmetric 2.5 Gbps optical LAN solution. The Pro+ model supports 10 Gbps intranet interconnection and Wi-Fi 7 which provides 2500 Mbps attainable bandwidth. In addition, the Dynamic Wi-Fi Management (DWM) Engine 2.0 is upgraded based on Wi-Fi 7. The 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz frequency bands are coordinated in scheduling, improving the concurrent throughput by more than 60% and allowing a single sub FTTR to support 64 channels of Blu-ray live streaming. The unique wing-shaped through-wall antennas innovatively apply 5G antenna technology to Wi-Fi, enabling one device to cover three rooms without blind spots.

Breakthrough 2: deterministic experience in service applications. The innovative Wi-Fi 7 smart slicing feature has a built-in AI engine to detect services in real time. The unique intelligent Wi-Fi scheduling algorithm implements optimal carrier/timeslot matching to provide dedicated slices for VIP services such as live streaming, cloud applications, and video conferencing. The solution also supports seamless switching between wired and wireless uplinks, ensuring stable and reliable production services.

Breakthrough 3: all-round security management. The built-in carrier-class network security database can identify and block top 100,000 threats, accurately parse and identify malicious websites, and proactively block over 80% of malicious websites. Integrating the network and video, the solution enables linkage between FTTR-B and cameras, unified management, and one-stop services.

The FTTR for SME Construction Guide White Paper focuses on nine fields: business office, catering restaurant, entertainment, chain retail, live streaming, teaching and training, government, pan-dormitory, and smart community. It analyzes the pain points and requirements of various enterprises in digital transformation, sorts out the FTTR-B construction guidelines, and provides important reference for SMEs in digital transformation and all-optical network construction. Huawei OptiXstar B50 and the white paper together pave the way for high-quality development of FTTR-B all-optical networking.

In the 10G era, Huawei will continue to work with industry partners such as standards organizations and operators to provide innovative technologies and solutions that enlighten the digital and intelligent transformation of SMEs.
