British carrier Everything Everywhere, which operates the Orange and T-Mobile brands in the UK, has launched a machine-to-machine (M2M) platform, developed in partnership with French-headquartered MVNE Transatel. Everything Everywhere also announced a collaboration with Redtail Telematics focused on the telemetry space.
The firm’s new platform, which will compete with offerings from Vodafone and Telefónica O2, offers enterprise customers an interface that enables them to manage their own portfolio of SIM accounts. Customers will have access to connection profiles, tariff information, CDRs that will provide data on every SMS and GPRS session within an hour of it happening, and the ability to order new SIMs directly from the platform.
In a second phase, Everything Everywhere said, it will release an API that will allow customers to integrate M2M operations into existing CRM systems and other business applications.
“The launch of the M2M management platform is a key step in our ambition to become the number on epartner of choice for M2M services.,” said Marc Overton, VP wholesale and M2M for Everything Everywhere. “We are expanding into new markets and innovative areas of service that will help companies to transform their business through mobility.”
The deal with Redtail, sees the telematics firm’s more than five million connected devices in the automotive aftermarket connected by the Everything Everywhere network. The firm said it was also looking to move into global logistics, connected health offerings and cross-border offerings.
