Taiwanese handset manufacturer HTC has beefed up its creative skills with the acquisition of the San Francisco design firm responsible for the Touch Diamond.

HTC, which is making a name for itself as a successful white label handset manufacturer as well as a growing brand in its own right, announced the acquisition of lifestyle design firm One & Company Design on Wednesday.

The Taiwanese vendor’s first collaboration with One & Co was over the design of the successful Touch Diamond. Released in May of this year, HTC recently upped its forecasts from 2 million Diamonds shipped to 3 million by year end.

One & Co said it will maintain its name and client base while it joins forces with HTC. The company also counts Apple, Microsoft, Palm and Motorola among its clients.
