Web giant Yahoo! has joined forces with Cisco-owned equipment manufacturer Linksys to launch a VoIP-enabled cordless phone.

The Linksys Dual-Mode Cordless Phone for Yahoo! Messenger with Voice allows consumers to make internet telephony calls using Yahoo! Messenger with Voice as well as to place and receive calls using the traditional PSTN.

As well as allowing access to Yahoo! Messenger buddy lists, users can also perform a limited search for local businesses such a restaurants from the device.

The CIT310 device is immediately available through Amazon.com and will be available through other online retailers later this month for around $99.99.
