Intel revenues top $3bn; Google TVs unveiled
US chip giant Intel reported Wednesday that third quarter revenue exceeded $11bn for the first time, up 18 per cent year on year. The company reported net income of $3bn, up from $1.8bn a year ago.

US chip giant Intel reported Wednesday that third quarter revenue exceeded $11bn for the first time, up 18 per cent year on year. The company reported net income of $3bn, up from $1.8bn a year ago.
Paul Otellini, Intel president and CEO, said: “We continue to see healthy worldwide demand for computing products of all types and are particularly excited about our next-generation processor, codenamed Sandy Bridge, and the many new designs around our Intel Atom processors in everything from the new Google TV products to a wide array of tablets based on Windows, Android and MeeGo operating systems.”
Saying that, the Intel Atom microprocessor and chipset division generated revenues of $396m for the quarter, down 4 per cent sequentially.
