Ericsson grabs CMS maker

Ericsson has acquired Drutt, a company that provides software for carriers to manage the delivery of multiple versions of their content.

The system monitors user activity on the web in a variety of ways, and adapts content to suit different devices. So far, a total of 60 customers have deployed it in 35 countries.

Ericsson intends to integrate the platform with its existing Service Delivery Platform (SDP) product line, which consists of a variety of application servers with common interfaces to either IMS, other SIP, or SS7 networks.

“Operators have access to detailed information on customer segmentation, subscriber age, sex, location, purchase power, and can easily gather other demographic information,” said Drutt in a specs document.

“With Drutt MSDP Open Surf all this information along with surf and purchase behaviour is available to be monetised,” the company said.
