The massive adoption of AI technologies in telecommunications relies on these technologies providing the highest levels of Flexibility, Agility and Trust - characteristics that are central to Explainable AI. Explainable AI (XAI) refers to methods and techniques that produce models which show why and how an AI algorithm has made a certain decision. Ibrahim is currently the Head of Service Line Cognitive Software & Services in Ericsson. He’s been working for Ericsson for more than 16 years now, in multiple capacities and in different leadership positions across the globe, one of his last roles being Head of Artificial Intelligence and Analytics in Market Head of Middle East and Africa. He’s considered one of the thought leaders for AI & Analytics in the telecom industries.
Alaa Ibrahim, Chief Technical Officer, Umniah
Alaa has a rich experience in the telecom industry spanning more than 27 years. Prior to joining Umniah as CTO in 2022, Alaa’s roles included CTIO of Djezzy in Algeria, Group Network Director at Veon Group overlooking 18 mobile and fixed operations, in addition to holding various leadership positions within Orascom Telecom, Alcatel and Telecom Egypt.
Alaa holds a BSc in Engineering from Cairo University and an MBA from Maastricht School of Management.
