Finnish vendor Nokia continued its foray into the services space on Monday with the announcement that it has agreed to acquire mobile advertising specialist Enpocket.
Financial details were not revealed but Enpocket is a privately-owned company, headquartered in the US. The Enpocket platform features a mobile advertising campaign management and delivery system, which works across multiple formats including SMS, MMS, mobile internet advertising, and video.
“Nokia has already announced its intention to be a leading company in consumer Internet services and we believe that mobile advertising will be an important element in monetising those services for our customers and partners,” said Tero Ojanpera, CTO of Nokia.
Nokia recently stepped up its presence in the services space, with an announcement from chief executive, Olli Pekka Kallasvuo, that, “Devices alone are not enough anymore.”
