Recently, Omdia, a global technology research powerhouse, released the 1Q22 Fiber and Copper Access Equipment Market Share Report. According to the report, Huawei’s home optical network terminals (ONTs) continued to rank No. 1 in global ONT/ONU revenue, and it has the highest number of shipment units in 1Q22.

Through continuous investment in technological innovation, Huawei creates higher value for operators and users and leads the global market. With the rapid development of fiber broadband around the world, operators have increasing requirements for fiber connections, home networking, and scenario-based broadband construction. Huawei continuously launches innovative products and solutions to support operators’ broadband service development.

  • In the fiber connection scenario, Huawei’s OptiXstar 10G PON ONT shipments continue to lead the world, supporting gigabit construction in China and fiber broadband development outside China.

  • In digital rural area construction and fiber broadband acceleration scenarios, Huawei’s dual-band Wi-Fi ONTs provide stable fiber Wi-Fi networks to ensure user experience in scenarios such as safe rural areas, live broadcast, and online shopping, helping to revitalize rural areas.

  • In home networking scenarios, Huawei OptiXstar ONTs integrate premium Wi-Fi capabilities and work with indoor fibers to realize fiber to the room (FTTR) optical broadband. By May 2022, 82 provincial and municipal operators in China have released commercial FTTR networking packages. Huawei’s FTTR solution is deployed in 1+N mode, serving as an ideal partner of gigabit broadband. This solution builds green, simplified, and future-oriented home networks with gigabit rate, smart roaming, and premium experience. Huawei is also strengthening cooperation with real estate and decoration industry partners to provide users with premium digital home experience. At the same time, Huawei’s innovative FTTR solution has been released globally and attracted wide attention in Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, and Asia Pacific. By now, Huawei has cooperated with more than 20 tier-1 operators in home network innovation and new service development.

  • In terms of scenario-based broadband construction, Huawei has released the intelligent acceleration ONT and premium broadband digital platform solution to deliver premium experience with 0 frame freezing in various value-added services such as online courses, video conferences, online live broadcast, and 4K videos. This solution has been put into large-scale commercial use in more than 20 countries around the world, helping operators improve the quality of broadband services and increase revenue.

Huawei’s home network products and solutions are highly recognized in the industry due to their high performance, high reliability, high security, and mature commercial capabilities. At the recently held Interop Tokyo 2022, Japan’s largest ICT exhibition, Huawei’s FTTR solution won the Best of Show Award. Before that, the solution also won the 2021 ICT Industry Excellent Solution Award in China, 2021 Home Broadband Innovation Award from Lightwave which is a renowned global optical network media, and many other industry awards. With simplified design, innovative technologies, high quality, and low carbon footprint, Huawei’s OptiXstar series ONTs won the iF Industrial Design Award and Reddot Design Award in 2021.

As a world-leading ultra-broadband (UBB) solutions provider, Huawei has delivered ONTs widely used on operator networks in more than 150 countries and regions. Huawei is committed to working with upstream and downstream partners in the industry chain to accelerate the upgrade and value creation of the home network industry through technological and commercial innovations. By working with Huawei, operators can deliver ultimate experience in digital home services, including online shopping, home office, 4K/8K, HD live broadcast, network fitness, and smart home for users; transform from bandwidth monetization to experience monetization; and achieve sustainable commercial success in the home broadband market.
